Dulquer Salmaan's 'Karwaan' a copy of Malayalam film Aeden?

Karwaan

Thrissur: Dulquer Salmaan's Bollywood movie Karwaan ran into copyright infringement trouble as Thrissur District Court on Thursday stayed release of the movie acting on a petition filed by a Malayalam director.

Critically acclaimed filmmaker Sanju Surendran had moved court claiming that the Akarsh Khurana-directorial starring Dulquer, Irrfan Khan and Mithila Palkar was a rip off of his award winning movie Aeden- Garden of Desire.

Karwaan, which was also Dulquer's Bollywood debut, was slated to hit theatres on Friday August 3. The movie had garnered rave reviews from critics after preview shows and performances of Irfan and Dulquer were lauded by all.

Meanwhile, Dulquer Salmaan in a Facebook post said, “contrary to reports in the media, Karwaan is releasing all over Kerala.”
