Only quality of the character matters to Tamannaah

South India’s reigning heroine Tamannaah Bhatia is not the one to shoot her mouth off. Known for her simple lifestyle, the Sindhi siren has always been levelheaded when surrounded by nosy scribes.

When asked about her criteria of choosing roles, her answer was artless: “I only look at the quality of the character and nothing else.” After the roaring success of Bahubali 2, two of her Telugu films ‘Next Enti?’ and ‘That’s Mahalakshmi’ are getting ready for release. And the leggy lass is busy with another two big-budget movies hopping from sets to sets. In Anil Ravipudi’s ‘F2’, Tamannaah will be playing along with Venkatesh and Varun Tej and in Surender’s ‘Sye Ra Narasimha Reddy’, she will be seen with mega star Chiranjeevi.

On being asked what she felt as her roles are less significant than heroes, she said with all humility that she didn’t think it was not worth discussing. “In films what heroes do, heroines cannot. In the same way, what heroines do, heroes can’t. Everyone has his or her own significance. Why comparisons?” she said.

Even if a film revolves round a woman, there will be a hero who has an important role to play, she said. It does not matter in how many frames you are seen in a film, it’s all about the power of character, opined the star. She said she never looked it into the length of her role while choosing films.
