Suresh Gopi defends Biju Menon over cyberattack

Actor-politician Suresh Gopi has denounced the cyberattack against fellow artiste Biju Menon. The former, who is the NDA candidate from the Trichur Lok Sabha constituency in Kerala, said Biju is like his own brother and that he has not sought any votes for him and hence it is unfair to target him.

Suresh Gopi also asserted that he would at any cost protect Biju who campaigned for the former recently.

"Is something wrong in a talented actor who I treat like my own brother speaking for me", he questioned. The actor also tried to point out previous occasions when celebrities sided with candidates in the run-up to the elections. "Didn't stars favour candidates earlier too? He asked.

Recently, Biju spoke at an election meeting held in Thrissur. Subsequently, he was viciously trolled ostensibly by netizens who are against the NDA candidate.

Kerala is set to vote on April 23 which marks the third phase of the Indian general elections to constitute the 17th Lok Sabha. Among the 227 candidates in the fray on the 20 seats, are two film stars -- Suresh Gopi and Innocent, who is contesting from the Chalakudy Lok Sabha constituency that neighbours the Trichur seat.
