Siddique's comment on Vijay likely to irk latter's fans

Siddique and Vijay

Malayalam actor Siddique stated that Tamil star Ilayathalapathy Vijay follows a stardom but is not a good actor. Siddique made the remark in one of his recent interview with a Malayalam portal.

“Each and every film industry depend on superstars. And it's necessary that superstars like Mammootty and Mohanlal should be there to help us make movies like 'Madhura Raja' and 'Lucifer'. In fact, the whole industry survives on actors like them. And people like us are - character actors are surviving in the industry just because of these superstars,” he said.

Further, comparing the superstars of two induatries, Siddique added, “The Malayalam film industry is lucky enough that we have two big Ms- Mammootty and Mohanlal, both of whom are superstars as well as impeccable actors. Whereas, other industries like Tamil have a different scenario. People like Vijay may be a superstar, but he is not a super actor. It's his stardom that spurred him in the industry. However, I believe Kamal Haasan is a good actor and superstar.”

Well, this has definetly not gone well with Vijay fans, who has millions of fans in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

Later, as a reply to his statement, Malayalam actor Hareesh Peradi, who co-starred with Vijay in 'Mersal', came forward and penned a few words about Vijay on his social media page. Hareesh Peradi said that Ilayathalapathy Vijay is both a superstar and a super actor. He also added that unlike other superstars, Vijay is a humble and good human being.
