The messy breakup between actor Ravi Mohan and his wife Aarti Ravi entered a new phase this week, with both appearing before the Chennai Family Court on May 21 to file individual petitions in their divorce case.
What started as a quiet separation has now spiralled into a public feud, with both sides trading accusations and no signs of a truce in sight.
According to sources, Ravi Mohan repeated his earlier claim that he had already granted Aarti a divorce, while Aarti countered with a demand for ₹40 lakh per month as alimony. Their legal filings come nearly a year after Ravi first announced the split, setting off a chain of social media salvos between the two.
Just a day before the court appearance, Aarti broke her silence with a scathing public statement. Without naming names, she pointed fingers at an unnamed “third person” for the breakdown of their marriage.
“There is a third person in our marriage,” she wrote. “What broke us wasn’t something between us — it was someone outside. The ‘light of your life’ brought only darkness to ours. That’s the truth.”
She also claimed to have proof that this unnamed individual had been involved even before the divorce papers were filed.
The couple, married since 2009, was once seen as a power duo in Chennai’s social circles. But over the past year, their relationship has devolved into a public battleground — one where private matters are no longer private, and both are fighting not just in courtrooms, but across media headlines.
