Popular director Lokesh Kanagaraj has revealed that Fahadh Faasil and not Soubin was the first choice for the Rajinikanth-starrer 'Coolie', which will hit theatres next month. The director, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, said he wrote the character with Fahadh in mind but the 'Aavesham' actor was unable to take up the project due to prior commitments.
He said he spent nearly six months developing the character. As Fahadh could not take up the project, Soubin was subsequently approached for the role. The 'Manjummel Boys' actor is expected to play a pivotal role in the movie. His latest appearance and dance in the song 'Monica' alongside Pooja Hegde has already received applause from the audience. The movie also features Nagarjuna Akkineni, Shruthi Haasan, Upendra Rao, among others. The Rajinikanth-starrer is also the most-anticipated Indian movie of 2025, as per Imdb.
The film was shot in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Jaipur and Bangkok. The music has been composed Anirudh Ravichander, while the cinematography has been handled by Girish Gangadharan and editing by Philomin Raj.
