A new week brings a fresh wave of films to look forward to, with July 25 set to light up theatres. The line up spans multiple languages and genres—fiery Tamil dramas, an inspiring Malayalam tale, a star packed Tamil–Malayalam thriller and a long awaited Marvel blockbuster. Here’s a look at what’s arriving on the big screen this Friday.
Thalaivan Thalaivii (Tamil)
Pandiraj’s Thalaivan Thalaivii brings together Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen in a story that blends romance, action and plenty of drama. Set against the bustle of a restaurant, it follows a couple whose fiery love–hate relationship keeps everyone on their toes. With music by Santhosh Narayanan and visuals by M. Sukumar, the film promises equal parts heart and entertainment, with Yogi Babu chipping in for laughs.
Oru Ronaldo Chithram (Malayalam)
In 'Oru Ronaldo Chithram', an aspiring filmmaker named Ronaldo dreams of winning a movie contest hosted by P. K. Aravindan, hoping it will change his life—and his love story. Featuring a strong ensemble of Aswin Jose, Indrans, Lal, Chaithania Prakash and Hanna Reji Koshi, the film promises to be a feel-good drama about chasing dreams and finding where you truly belong.
Maareesan (Tamil)
Director Sudheesh Sankar teams up once again with Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu, reuniting the duo after their memorable pairing in the 2023 hit 'Maamannan'. This new outing, scripted by V. Krishna Moorthy, promises a blend of humour, drama and star power.
The cast is packed with familiar faces: Vivek Prasanna, Kovai Sarala and P. L. Thenappan take on significant roles, while Sithara, Livingston, Renuka, Saravana Subbiah, Krishna, Haritha and Telephone Raja round out the ensemble.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps (Hollywood / MCU)
Marvel’s First Family is finally stepping into the spotlight with 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps'. Set in a stylish 1960s backdrop, the film stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm and Ebon Moss Bachrach as Ben Grimm. Julia Garner turns up as the Silver Surfer, while Ralph Ineson brings menace as Galactus. Early buzz calls it a mix of retro flair and emotional depth as the team fights to save Earth—and their baby Franklin—from cosmic danger.
