As Dulquer Salmaan turns 42 today, birthday wishes are pouring in from all corners of the film industry. Among the many greetings, actor Kalyani Priyadarshan’s message stood out for its warmth and sincerity.
The two had shared screen space in the 2020 Malayalam film 'Varane Avashyamund', a gentle, feel-good drama where Dulquer played Bibeesh, a soft-spoken young man with a guarded past, and Kalyani played Nikki, a woman navigating family expectations and arranged marriage. The film, set in a Chennai apartment complex, also starred Shobana and Suresh Gopi in key roles and was directed by Anoop Sathyan. Dulquer also produced the film under his banner Wayfarer Films.

Sharing her birthday wish on social media, Kalyani wrote: “Dearest D, every year I send you a long message that stays off social media, but today, as we share a little glimpse of our dreams with the world, I wanted to wish you a year full of every dream of yours coming true, both in and outside of cinema.”

She went on to thank him for always being her first call for advice over the past five years. “I don’t know where I’d be without you and I know I’m not alone in feeling that way,” she added.
The two actors have remained close friends since their collaboration on 'Varane Avashyamund', and Kalyani’s message offered a heartfelt peek into the bond they continue to share off-screen.
