Actress Seema G Nair has said the complaint against Shwetha Menon, which accuses her of acting in obscene films and earning money from them, is baseless and fabricated.
She called the accusations completely fabricated and rooted in ulterior motives. In a social media post, Seema said that regardless of how far the case progresses through the legal system, those responsible must be held accountable and punished. She also urged that Shwetha Menon and Kukku Parameswaran should not be reduced to mere pawns in someone else’s game.
Seema described the controversy as deeply distressing and said it was clearly stirred by selfish interests. She added that anyone with common sense could see through the motives behind the complaint. According to her, some people are only satisfied when they succeed in tearing others down.
Reflecting on her relationship with Shwetha, Seema recalled meeting her 25 years ago during the shoot of the film ‘Kayam’. Although they haven't been in frequent contact since, Seema said Shwetha has always treated her with the same warmth and respect from day one.
What disturbed her the most was the language used in the FIR. She said the complaint accused Shwetha of making videos to mislead children through her institutions and expressed shock at such allegations. She called it horrifying and offensive.
Seema pointed out that all the films mentioned — ‘Kalimannu’, ‘Paleri Manikyam’, ‘Kayam’, and even ‘Kamasutra’ — were released legally with censor board certification. To now claim that scenes from these films are available on pornographic websites, she said, is both misleading and malicious.
She also responded to claims that someone named Martin accessed these videos through banned sites, questioning whether he had some extraordinary ability to unlock restricted content. If such people exist, she added, Martin really doesn't need to worry.
In her concluding remarks, Seema suggested that the real reason behind the complaint may be Shwetha and Kukku's decision to contest in the AMMA elections. She said the people behind this drama must face consequences, even if the case reaches the highest courts.
Let those who resort to dirty tricks for power continue with their games, she wrote. But you must stay strong and win, not just for yourself but because watching this unfold every day has been mentally exhausting. Keep moving forward with courage.
