The countdown has begun for one of the year’s most anticipated theatrical releases — Rajinikanth’s 'Coolie' is all set to hit the big screen on August 14, and advance bookings have officially opened.
In Kerala and Karnataka, select theatres will screen the film as early as 6 am, while shows in Tamil Nadu are scheduled to begin at 9 am. With more screens expected to join in over the next few days, the buzz surrounding 'Coolie' is only getting stronger.
In Kerala, bookings will open at 10.30 am on August 8. Early morning shows at 6 am on release day are already in high demand, as fans gear up to witness Rajinikanth in a full-blown mass action avatar.
However, in Tamil Nadu, the first-day-first-show frenzy will be slightly more contained. The state government has prohibited early morning screenings following a tragic incident during the release of 'Thunivu' in 2023. As a result, theatres across Tamil Nadu will begin screening Coolie only from 9 am onward.
The film has received an ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification, and theatre owners have made it clear: entry will be denied to anyone under the age of 18. Many screens in Tamil Nadu have already issued disclaimers to that effect to ensure smooth and safe operations on release day.
With just days to go, 'Coolie' is poised for a thunderous opening. From packed early shows to fan celebrations, the film is expected to light up the box office and bring back the kind of first-day frenzy that only a Rajinikanth film can deliver.
