Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has expressed his strong belief that Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir will become a sensation in Tamil cinema following the release of their upcoming film ‘Coolie’. Speaking at the film’s pre-release event, Lokesh praised Soubin’s performance and predicted a wave of opportunities coming his way.

“I believe that within a week of the film’s release, everyone will be talking about Soubin,” Lokesh said during the event. “It would be great if he moved to Chennai—there will be plenty of offers from Tamil cinema. He already has fans for his dance moves, and once the film is out, many more will admire his acting as well.”

Lokesh also shared his hopes of collaborating again with Aamir Khan, indicating that more exciting projects could be in the pipeline.
Soubin’s performance in ‘Coolie’ has already earned praise from none other than Rajinikanth himself. The superstar revealed that he was initially unsure about casting Soubin but was later blown away by his performance. This endorsement from one of Indian cinema’s biggest icons has only added to the anticipation surrounding the film.

‘Coolie’ is a landmark film as it marks the first collaboration between Lokesh Kanagaraj and Rajinikanth. The music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, and Nagarjuna plays the film’s antagonist. Adding to the nostalgia, ‘Coolie’ also reunites Rajinikanth and Sathyaraj on screen after 40 years.
Produced on a grand scale, ‘Coolie’ is set to hit theatres on August 14, and expectations are sky-high from fans across South India.
