Actor Kollam Thulasi has come under fire on social media for his remarks about women during the AMMA elections. The veteran actor, after casting his vote, stated that men should always lead and women should be subordinate to them. Thulasi made these comments in response to a question from YouTubers about his opinion on women leading AMMA. "Men should always lead. Women should always be beneath them," he said. He later sought the opinion of the YouTubers before instructing his driver to leave. Later, Thulasi clarified that he was aware his remarks would make women his critics and claimed he made the statement in jest.
Kollam Thulasi is not a stranger to controversies. In 2018, the actor said women who enter Sabarimala should be ripped into two and one half sent to Delhi and the other to the Chief Minister’s office in Kerala. The remarks received backlash, and the actor was booked for his threatening message.
