Actor and mimicry artist Biju Kuttan has confirmed that he is safe and recovering well after being involved in a car accident near Palakkad. The actor, who was briefly admitted to hospital following the incident, returned home on Saturday and said he sustained only minor injuries.
The accident took place early Friday morning when the car Biju Kuttan was travelling in collided with a stationary lorry parked along the national highway. The vehicle's front section was severely damaged in the impact. He was reportedly on his way to Kochi to cast his vote in the AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes) elections at the time.
In a Facebook Live session, Biju reassured his well-wishers that both he and his friend Sudhi Madhav, who was travelling with him, escaped without any serious harm. He explained that while the car had been significantly damaged, they were fortunate to come out mostly unhurt. He suffered only a minor injury to one of his fingers and said that a few days of rest—three to four—would be sufficient for recovery.
He also expressed gratitude for the overwhelming concern he received from friends, fans, and colleagues, and explained that the volume of calls and messages prompted him to go live on social media to address everyone directly.
Biju used the opportunity to emphasise the importance of road safety. He said he always makes it a point to drive responsibly and insists on the same when someone else is driving. He added that he is not someone who drives fast, and believes that reaching a destination late is better than risking lives on the road. He also noted that in all these years, he has never had even a minor case or traffic violation against him, which he credits to his cautious driving habits.
