Kalyani Priyadarshan is set for a busy Onam with two major releases hitting theatres back-to-back. She stars in ‘Lokah: Chapter One’ alongside Naslen, and in ‘Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira’ with Fahadh Faasil — two of the most sought-after actors in Malayalam cinema.
In an interview with Galatta Plus, Kalyani spoke about working with both stars. She said collaborating with Fahadh Faasil helped her refine her craft. Recalling one moment on set, she mentioned that before shooting a particular scene, Fahadh told her it would take him a few days to fully ease into the character. Kalyani found it inspiring that an actor of his stature takes time to immerse himself in a role, which in turn gave her a sense of security in her own process. She described Fahadh as someone confident in his approach yet just insecure enough to keep pushing himself towards improvement.
Talking about Naslen, Kalyani said he is simply thrilled about the opportunities coming his way and that it was evident that acting is something he has always wanted to do. She described working with him in ‘Lokah’ as sharing space with a friend, while working with Fahadh in ‘Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira’ felt like learning from a teacher.
‘Lokah: Chapter One – Chandra’ is slated for release on August 28, followed by ‘Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira’ on August 29. Mohanlal’s ‘Hridayapoorvam’, directed by Sathyan Anthikad, also arrives on August 28, promising a festive treat for audiences with multiple big releases lined up for the season.
