The makers of ‘Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1,’ has announced the release date of the film, much to the excitement of fans. ‘A Legend Chapter 1’ is the prequel of the pan Indian blockbuster ‘Kantara’ that marked a cinematic milestone in Kannada cinema will be released on October 2, 2025. Meanwhile, Prithviraj Productions has grabbed the distribution rights of the movie in Kerala.

It was Prithviraj Productions that distributed superhit Kannada, Telugu and Hindi movies like ‘Kantara,’ ‘KGF Chapter 2’ and ‘Salaar: Part 1’ in Kerala. ‘Kantara’ written and directed by Kannada actor – director Rishabh Shetty was one of biggest hits of 2022. Hombale Films that produced pan–India blockbusters like ‘KGF, Kanthara and Salaar has bankrolled ‘Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1.’

Producer Vijay Kiragandur had earlier said ‘Kantara A Legend: Chapter 1,’ was the ‘most ambitious project to date’. “The spiritual resonance of the first film was a guiding force as we shaped ‘Chapter 1. The audience’s response to ‘Kantara’ gave us clarity — we knew we had to honor that legacy with focused storytelling,” said the producer.
