Actor Tovino Thomas, who played Chathan in ‘Lokah’, recently shared a series of pictures from the film on social media. Captioning the post with “Make way for some mischief! Mischief managed”, the actor hinted at what’s next for the franchise.

According to the makers, the second part of the ‘Lokah’ series will revolve around Tovino’s character, Chathan. In the movie, the actor appears in the second half as Chathan, a figure drawn from Kerala’s rich folklore.

In local traditions, Chathan is described as a mischievous and supernatural spirit associated with black magic, sorcery, and folk worship. At times childlike, yet possessing immense powers, Chathan is considered both feared and revered. Folklore often casts him as a trickster spirit who can be protective or destructive, depending on how he is invoked.

Tovino’s post quickly caught the attention of fans, who flooded the comments section with praise. One user wrote, “Handsome Chathan,” while another recalled one of his popular dialogues from the film, commenting, “Hasta La Vista policekaara.”
Meanwhile, ‘Lokah’ has turned into a box-office juggernaut, grossing over ₹250 crore worldwide. The film continues to draw strong responses across theatres.

Kalyani Priyadarshan won hearts with her performance as Chandra, a modern reimagining of Neeli, the iconic yakshi from Kerala folklore. The younger version of Chandra, portrayed by Durga C Vinod as Kalliyankattu Neeli, also received widespread appreciation for her captivating performance.
