The makers of 'Thamma' dropped the trailer on Friday at a Mumbai event, and it’s already got everyone talking. Starring Rashmika Mandanna, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the film revolves around a "forgotten legend from our folklore," following two characters as they navigate love and mysteries that go beyond the ordinary. Paresh Rawal joins the fun as Ayushmann’s father, promising some hilarious moments.
The trailer is full of chills and thrills: Tadaka awakens an ancient legend, Yakshaashan makes a bone-chilling declaration, and Alok shows up with bloodshot eyes, no pulse, and skin that burns in sunlight. With stunning VFX and folklore brought vividly to life, it’s a mix of eerie and exciting like nothing you’ve seen before.
'Thamma' is the fifth installment in Maddock Films’ horror-comedy universe, following in the footsteps of 'Stree', 'Stree 2', 'Munjya', and 'Bhediya'. Unlike its predecessors, this one leans into romance while still keeping its social commentary intact, making it the first full-blown love story in the franchise.
Faisal Malik and Geeta Agrawal also have important roles. Produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, and directed by Aditya Sarpotdar (who helmed 'Munjya'), 'Thamma' is set to release on Diwali, October 21, promising love, laughs, and folklore-packed chills for moviegoers.
