'Class of 1980s' cinema reunite at Rajkumar’s Chennai home

Icons of 1980s cinema reunited recently at Rajkumar Sethupathi and Sripriya's home in Chennai. Filmmaker and actor Revathy Asha shared photos from the star-studded gathering, which brought together some of the most beloved actors from the golden era of Indian movies.

The former co-stars embraced a playful theme, donning leopard-print costumes for the occasion. While legends like Mohanlal, Mammootty, and Rajinikanth were unable to attend, as many as 31 stars made it to the event—the first such reunion in three years. Last year’s plans had to be postponed due to severe Chennai floods. Revathy expressed her gratitude to actors Lissy, Suhasini, Poornima Bhagyaraj, Rajkumar, and Khusbhu for making the memorable evening possible.

“An evening meeting friends we otherwise hardly meet… people we have worked with… the only group that meets over 12years… thanks to Lissy, Hasini, Poornima, Rajkumar and Khushbu who tirelessly work towards an evening where just being together is happiness… Class of 80s ROCK!!!,” she wrote.

While most gatherings are usually held in hotels, this time the team chose to meet at Rajkumar and Sripriya’s residence to create a more personal and intimate atmosphere. The event was graced by a host of well-known personalities, including Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, Jackie Shroff, Sarathkumar, Revathy, Ramya Krishnan, Radha, Shobana, Prabhu, Nadiya, Suhasini Maniratnam, Jayasudha, Sumalatha, Rahman, Khushbu, Naresh, Suresh, Menaka, Jayaram, Aswathy Jayaram, Saritha, Bhanu Chander, Meena, Latha, Swapna, Jayasree, Poornima Bhagyaraj, and K. Bhagyaraj, among others.
