Chalakudy: Actor and dancer RLV Ramakrishnan, the brother of late actor Kalabhavan Mani, has shared a heartfelt tribute following the death of their long-time neighbour, Hayrunnisa (89).
The post has gone viral on social media. Hayrunnisa, the wife of late Mustafa from the Kottukaran family at Chenathunadu Palayam, was regarded as a motherly figure by Mani and his brothers.

Ramakrishnan remembered her as a symbol of love and compassion. “She was our Umma, a motherly figure who fed us with affection and treated us like her own children,” he said.
He recalled that Umma, who had seven children, considered the Mani brothers part of her own family. “Our childhood revolved around her—accompanying her to the Chalakudy market, the ration shop, and helping her with everything,” he added.

He also reminisced that the first autorickshaw Mani drove was 'Musthafa Sons', a Lambert model, owned by Umma’s son, Ali Chettan (Sylla Budeen). “Wherever Mani went, he would first inform Umma. When he returned, he would share every detail of his day with her.
That affectionate call is gone now, along with the warmth that came with it. With her passing, another link to the elders of our time has disappeared,” Ramakrishnan said. Hayrunnisa’s house stands next to Mani’s ancestral home in Chenathunadu.
