Rajisha Vijayan shocked everyone as she shared a horrifying near–drowning experience while shooting for her upcoming movie ‘Bison’ starring Dhruv Vikram in the lead role. An emotional Rajisha recounted how director Mari Selvaraj’s timely intervention had saved her life.

The actor speaking at the pre–release event of ‘Bison’ struggled to control her tears as she recounted the experience. She shared how Mari Selvaraj had gotten into the water, even without removing his shoes and socks, to save her.
“I was excited when Mari Selvaraj sir offered me the role in ‘Karnan.’ I had been an admirer of his works after watching ‘Pariyerum Perumal.’

Moreover, it was indeed a significant opportunity to offer me that role, as I hadn’t done any Tamil movies up to that point. Even though he went on to make two more movies after ‘Karnan,’ I wasn’t a part of them. When I asked him about it, he candidly told me I wasn’t the right fit for those roles. When you collaborate with a filmmaker and share a strong creative rapport, it’s only natural to want to work together again.

One day, Mari sir called me and said that he was planning on making a film. But, he was unsure if I would accept a sister role. I told him that I was willing to work with him, regardless of the roles I received. I have worked on 30 movies so far, and I trust him a lot. In fact, I blindly trust him,” said Rajisha.
The movie had a scene in which Rajisha had to jump into the water. Mari Selvaraj had asked her whether she knew swimming as Rajisha had learnt the skill during the filming of Karnan. She expressed her confidence and jumped into the water, but realised that she had forgotten the basics as she had learned the skill around four years ago. "When I jumped into the water, it felt like something was pulling me under. For a moment, I truly thought those five seconds would be the end of me. So many thoughts flashed through my mind in that instant. I could sense people trying to rescue me. Once I managed to regain control, I looked around—and there he was, standing in the water with his sunglasses still on. It was Director Mari Sir! Without even removing his shoes or socks, he had rushed in to save me. I’ll never forget that moment."
