The much-awaited Mammootty-starrer 'Kalamkaval', which sees Mammootty in a villainous role, is expected to hit theatres soon. The film was recently cleared by the censor board with a U/A 16+ certificate. Directed by debutant Jithin K. Jose—best known for penning the screenplay of Dulquer Salmaan's 'Kurup'—the movie is being distributed by DQ's Wayfarer Films, marking the banner's seventh release.

The script has been co-written by Jishnu Sreekumar and Jithin K. Jose. The posters and teasers of the movie have already gone viral and generated significant buzz among Mammootty fans.

George Sebastian is the film's executive producer, while Faisal Ali has cranked the camera for the movie. Mujeeb Majid is the film's music producer. Praveen Prabakar is the editor while Amal Chandran has handled the makeup. Abhijith C is the film’s costume designer, while Truth Global Films is the Overseas Distribution Partner. Vaishak C Vadakeveedu, and Jinu Anil Kumar are the PROs of the movie.

The shoot of ‘Kalamkaval’ was completed in November last year with most of the scenes shot in Tamil Nadu. Vinayakan will also play a prominent role in the movie. His appearance in the teaser has also excited fans. Meanwhile, Mammooty who took a break from film shoots from the beginning of the year has joined the sets of Mahesh Narayanan’s movie ‘Patriot’, the shoot of which is currently in progress in the UK.
