As October draws to a close, several exciting titles are gearing up for their OTT release. From action-packed thrillers to heartwarming dramas, this week’s releases promise something for every kind of viewer. Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra
Directed by Dominic Arun and produced by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films, this 2025 Malayalam-language fantasy-thriller introduces a new cinematic universe. The story follows Chandra (Kalyani Priyadarshan), a young woman with extraordinary abilities who arrives in Bengaluru on a mysterious mission. Her neighbour Sunny (Naslen K Gafoor) becomes entwined in her adventure, prompting a spiral of suspense and superhero-style action. The cast also features Tovino Thomas, Arun Kurian, Chandu Salimkumar, Vijayaraghavan and others. With cinematography by Nimish Ravi, music by Jakes Bejoy, editing by Chaman Chakko, the film aims to push Malayalam cinema into pan-Indian territory while retaining local flavour.

Baaghi 4
Directed by A Harsha and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, Baaghi 4 is the fourth instalment of the franchise. The film stars Tiger Shroff as Ranveer “Ronny” Pratap Singh, who survives a devastating accident and emerges after a coma with fractured memories and the haunting absence of his love Alisha (Harnaaz Sandhu in a dual role as Alisha/Avantika). The cast also includes Sanjay Dutt as the villainous Chacko, Sonam Bajwa as Olivia/Prathistha, and Shreyas Talpade as Jeetu, Ronny’s brother. With themes of hallucination, betrayal and vengeance, the film blends high-octane action and psychological twists.

M3GAN 2.0
The 2025 sci-fi action thriller ‘M3GAN 2.0’ continues the story of the AI doll that shocked audiences in the 2022 original. Two years after M3GAN went rogue, her creator, Gemma, has dedicated herself to advocating for stricter government regulation of artificial intelligence. Meanwhile, a defence contractor develops Amelia, a highly advanced military-grade spy robot. As Amelia’s self-awareness grows, it begins to ignore orders, posing a dangerous threat. To stop the new menace, Gemma decides to resurrect M3GAN, upgrading her to be faster, stronger, and more lethal than before.
Directed and written by Gerard Johnstone, from a story co-written with Akela Cooper, ‘M3GAN 2.0’ stars Allison Williams, Violet McGraw, Ivanna Sakhno, and Jemaine Clement. Amie Donald physically portrays M3GAN while Jenna Davis provides the character’s voice. Fans of sci-fi and action can catch the film streaming on JioHotstar starting October 27, making it a must-watch for thriller enthusiasts.

Idli Kadai
Directed, written and co-produced by Dhanush, this 2025 Tamil drama centres on Murugan (Dhanush), a man from a modest village who leaves for Bangkok in pursuit of a better life, becomes involved with a wealthy industrial family, and is engaged to Meera (Shalini Pandey). But when circumstances draw him back home, he rediscovers his roots and takes charge of his father Sivanesan’s (Raj Kiran) idli shop, while contending with the arrogant son (Arun Vijay) of the industrialist Vishnu Vardhan (Sathyaraj). The film also features Nithya Menen and P Samuthirakani in supporting roles. With cinematography by Kiran Koushik and editing by Prasanna GK, and music by G V Prakash Kumar, the film blends nostalgia, familial loyalty and identity.
