Actor Rahman opened up about Mammootty’s comeback to films, saying that when he first heard about the superstar taking a break from movies, he could not process it immediately. “I see him as my brother, so I could not process it. Now I am very happy that he has come back,” Rahman told Onmanorama at Manorama Hortus.

He said that he was emotionally very low when he first heard about Mammootty’s health issues months ago. “I was almost in tears. It’s not like we talk over the phone daily or meet often, but he has always been like a brother figure to me. We have acted in so many movies together,” Rahman added.

The actor also credited Mammootty’s fans for his return. “Mammootty has come back because of the prayers of his fans. Over the years, he is someone who has not garnered any haters, and people have only grown to love him. He should live for long,” Rahman said.
