The much-awaited Mohanlal–Jeethu Joseph film ‘Drishyam 3’ has officially wrapped up. The team announced the completion by sharing a location video taken moments after the final shot was filmed. A standout moment in the clip is Mohanlal’s reaction when the director confirms that the shot is approved.
The video also captures Mohanlal hugging Antony Perumbavoor and Jeethu Joseph, celebrating the milestone together. The pack-up turned into a small celebration on set as the team cut a cake with the cast members.
Siddique, Ganesh Kumar and Shanthi Mayadevi were present during the wrap-up. Murali Gopy is seen in the get-up of IG Thomas Bastin. The film, which began production at the end of October, was completed in just one month, with Thodupuzha and Vagamon serving as the primary locations.
The first two instalments of the franchise were major blockbusters. The original ‘Drishyam’, released on December 19, 2013, became the first Malayalam film to cross the 50-crore mark and was later remade in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and even Chinese.
‘Drishyam 2’ premiered on February 19, 2021, directly on Amazon Prime Video. The theatrical and digital rights of ‘Drishyam 3’ have already been sold ahead of release, and reports indicate that the film has generated business exceeding 100 crore.
