Regarded as Malayalam cinema’s first true family thriller franchise, the ‘Drishyam’ series has built its legacy on the emotional and moral dilemmas faced by Georgekutty, an ordinary man driven to extraordinary lengths to protect his family.
According to the circulating synopsis, the third instalment will once again centre on Georgekutty, who is not only protecting his family from the outside world but also from the truth that binds them together.
For years, fans have been fascinated by Georgekutty’s near-impossible escapes from the police, marvelling at his meticulous planning and calm presence of mind.
The film revolves around Antony Xaviour, a morally compromised police officer played by Biju Menon, and Samuel, a desperate father portrayed by Joju George, whose daughter Irene has gone missing.
Sharing a specially crafted teaser video on social media, Mohanlal hinted at the lingering shadows of the past that continue to haunt Georgekutty.
Filming was recently completed across various locations in Kochi, Vandiperiyar and Peerumedu.
The title look of ‘Valathu Vashathe Kallan’, which was unveiled earlier, carried the tagline ‘A confession of a wounded soul’, offering a glimpse into the film’s introspective tone.
