Shwetha Menon, president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), reaffirmed the organisation's continued support for the survivor, highlighting that she serves as a significant role model for women in the film industry. Shwetha stated that the association welcomed the recent verdict and expressed satisfaction with the outcome. She was speaking to the media outside the AMMA office in Kochi on Friday.

On a personal note, she expressed her belief that the survivor should consider appealing the verdict in a higher court. “In my opinion, it would be beneficial for the survivor to file an appeal in the higher courts regarding this verdict,” Menon stated.

She also dismissed accusations made by actor Baburaj, who criticised the leadership for failing to address the media. The leadership, which held the executive meeting last Monday, did not release any statement after the verdict in the actress assault case was announced on December 8. “We were waiting for the judgement before issuing a statement,” she said. She also addressed Baburaj’s allegations against the association, stating that the actor was sharing his view point. “ Baburaj is not someone who is not aware of how the organisation operates. We were awaiting the judgment before issuing a statement,” she clarified.

Regarding the potential reinstatement of actor Dileep into the association, Menon stated that no discussions had taken place. “The meeting held last Monday was unrelated to the verdict. We have not yet had any discussions on this matter,” she confirmed.
