2.0 FDFS: A celebration for Rajinikanth fans

The most anticipated film of the year, '2.0', has finally hit the screens. First shows began as early as 4 am on Thursday. All the shows are housefull and there have been celebrations by Rajini fans ahead of the screening. It seems the audience can't get enough of watching their favourite star on screen. The film is being screened in 10,000 theatres worldwide.

First reports

Just like the buzz surrounding the movie, '2.0' has reportedly offered a scintillating cinematic experience for audience.

The movie begins with a fast pace and viewers have called it a fabulous experience.

There is a solid build up in the script with well established characters. Superstar Rajinikanth, as always, steals the show.

His stellar performance even at this age is reportedly a treat for fans. Akshay Kumar, too, with his dedication is on par with superstar.

The second half offers much more racy and thrilling moments than the first and keeps audience in awe.

The VFX is the highlight of the movie. The climax reportedly offers some never before seen sequences.

Hats off to director Shankar for coming up with a film that stays true to the science-fiction genre.

Innovative efforts

This is the costliest ever movie in the history of Indian cinema. The total budget is reportedly Rs 600 Crore. The movie offers a visual extravaganza with the crew investing a lot of time to perfect VFX works. The movie should be watched in a 3D format. It was for this film that the team have come up with a new sound format – 4D SRL.

Not a sequel?

Although 2.0 is a sequel to the 2010 film Robot (Enthiran in Tamil), the characters Chitti and Vaseegaran have been placed in an altogether different story line.

Amy Jackson is playing a pivotal role in 2.0 Aishwarya Rai had played the female lead in Enthiran.
