Bombay Jayashri, who had suffered a brain hemorrhage in March, has issued a statement about her health through social media. The celebrated Carnatic vocalist told fans she is recovering well and thanked everyone for their blessings and wishes.

“With all your blessings, prayers and wishes, I am recovering well. Please keep them coming,” she wrote. Jayashri was in the UK as part of her musical tour when she suffered a brain hemorrhage in March. She was rushed to a hospital there where she underwent an emergency keyhole surgery.

An official statement released by her team in the last week of March had maintained that the singer was stable and has been advised several days rest. She released her first official statement on Monday. The Padma Shri award recipient, who has sung in various languages, is known for her elegant voice and unique style of singing. She has also earned a permanent place in the hearts of music lovers much earlier, with her stage recitals, music albums and film songs.

Apart from music, she is also involved with activities supporting distressed people, including orphaned children, autistic kids, cancer patients and abandoned elders.
