Latest studies reveal that a healthy diet is possible for fitness enthusiasts without completely ignoring rice. Experts say that one can still get into a desirable figure by having rice for lunch in a moderate quantity. The food will be digested easily during day, when the metabolic rate is high. When rice is consumed for lunch, it will provide the energy required for the body to carry out its functions for the next 8-9 hours. The carbohydrate in rice will give us the stamina and energy to be active all throughout the day.

Rice can also be consumed in the forms of idly, poori or kichdi. But the most important thing to keep in mind is that you shouldn’t consume more quantity than what is actually required.
