Many are bothered by severe sun tans or sun burns, forcing them to stay indoors even on a pleasant sunny day. Most people try to avoid this problem by wearing cotton clothes that cover the entire body and by using huge dollops of sunscreen lotions. However, the sun tan could be removed naturally by bringing a small change in your diet.
Lots of fruits and veggies should be included in the regular diet to protect your body and skin from the harmful rays of the sun. For instance, yellow, orange, red and green fruits and vegetables like broccoli, carrot, red bell pepper, orange, mangoes, leafy vegetables and pumpkin protects the skin from sun burns.
The antioxidant lycopene in tomatoes and watermelon can absorb the UVA and UVB radiations. This protects the body from the harmful effects of the radiations.
Studies have proved that the antioxidants in carrots and leafy vegetables would protect the body from sun burns and skin cancer if these are included in the diet for at least 10 weeks.
The omega 3 fatty acids in pomegranates, guavas, sweet potato, strawberries, red grapes, dark chocolate, cabbage, green tea and nuts like walnuts and flax seeds help prevent sun tan. Salmon too is amazing in fighting sun tans.
