Try this perfect boondi laddu

Boondi laddus are extremely tasty and are a favourite during the festive seasons. Here is how you could prepare the perfect boondi laddus at home.  


2 cups gram flour

¼ tsp baking soda

A pinch of salt

1 ½ cups water

2 ½ cups sugar

1 ¼ cups water

3 cardamom pods

1 tsp cardamom powder

2 pinches turmeric powder

2 tbsp ghee

Rock candies as required

29 raisins

Oil to fry


Take the gram flour, salt, baking soda and turmeric powder in a bowl

Mix well

Add water slowly and mix into batter

Heat oil in a pan

Pour the batter into the hot oil through a perforated spoon

Fry the boondi on medium flame

Keep them aside to be used later

Prepare the sugar syrup by boiling water and sugar

Add the cardamom pods and turmeric powder

Mix well and allow the syrup to boil

Meanwhile, grind 1 cup boondi in a mixer into powder

Add ghee into the boondi powder and mix

Pour the sugar syrup into the boondi before it reaches one string consistency

Mix well

After some time add cardamom powder and ghee into the boondi mix

Add the rock candies after the boondi has absorbed the sugar syrup completely

Scoop some boondi and roll between your palms into laddus

Garnish the laddus with a raisin each.
