Ingredients
85 gms maida
160 gms sugar powder
4 eggs
1 tbsp corn flour
1½ tsp baking powder
1½ tsp vanilla essence
1 tbsp water
Chocolate Butter Cream Icing
100 gm butter
250 gm icing sugar
2 tbsp cocoa
A few drops of vanilla essence
Preparation
Sieve maida with baking powder and corn flour
Separate the eggs and beat egg yolks with sugar powder, vanilla essence and water until it is thick.
Beat egg whites stiffly
Fold into the batter alternately with the maida mixture, very carefully, without allowing the bubbles to subside
Grease and line a rectangular cake tin
Pour the batter into it
Bake immediately at 180°C for 15 min
Preparation of Chocolate Butter Cream Icing
Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy
Add cocoa and vanilla essence and continue to beat until icing attains stiff consistency
Spread on the cake
