Nellikka sambharam

A refreshing drink that contains all the goodness of the gooseberry that our grandmothers have vouched for since time immemorial. It's not just green and cooling but is a soother for many bodily ailments. Ingredients
3 medium sized gooseberry
½ green chilli
1 inch piece ginger
5 curry leaves
A small sprig of coriander leaves
Salt, as required

Preparation
Wash and peel the gooseberries
Chop them into tiny pieces
Chop up the curry leaves, coriander, green chilli and ginger
Add to the gooseberry slices and grind in a mixer-grinder without adding water
Strain the liquid into a container
Now put the pulp back into the mixer-grinder, add 3 cups of water and grind again
Strain the liquid into the container where the first liquid is stored
You can make 4 glasses out of the listed ingredients
Taste it and add required salt

Notes
Do not mix water to juice without grinding it first with the pulp in the mixer grinder. One can make up to 4-5 glasses depending upon the flavour of the gooseberries.
