An incredible union of chicken and appam

Here is a unique and innovative dish which combines the goodness of appam and spicy, flavoursome chicken. This is prepared by steaming the batter loaded with chicken pieces in an idli vessel.

Ingredients
1/4 cup chicken pieces
Water as required
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 cup raw rice
3/4 cup cooked rice
1 cup grated coconut
2 cardamoms (powdered)
1 egg
Oil as required
1/4 tsp ginger (crushed)
2 cloves garlic (crushed)
1 onion (chopped)
2 green chillies (chopped)
1/2 tsp garam masala
Salt as required

Preparation
In a pressure cooker add the chicken pieces, half glass water, turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt
Cook well
Shred the cooked chicken pieces
Take raw rice in a bowl and add cooked rice, grated coconut, cardamom powder, egg, salt and half glass water
Grind it into the consistency of idli batter
Heat oil in a pan
Add ginger and garlic
Sauté well
Add onion, green chillies, garam masala and shredded chicken
Cook well
Pour some water
Stir well until it is reduced
Oil the bowls on the idli vessel
Pour the batter into it
Place some cooked chicken mixture in the centre
Steam well
This dish tastes best when served hot.
