Italian classic tiramisu

Tiramisu is a soft and creamy coffee flavoured dessert that is an Italian classic. Here is how you could prepare tiramisu at home.

Ingredients
6 egg yolks
2 tbsp milk
1 cup sugar
1 ½ cups whipping cream
225 gms mascarpone cheese
2 tsp instant coffee powder
3 ½ tbsp coffee liqueur
Sponge biscuits (lady fingers/sponge fingers) as required

Preparation
Melt the sugar in egg yolks by the double boiling method
Add 2 tbsp milk into it; mix well and set aside
After this mixture has cooled down, add the mascarpone cheese and beaten whipped cream
Mix well
Mix the coffee powder and coffee liqueur in ¾ cup hot water
Keep it aside to cool down
After the coffee blend has cooled down, dip the sponge biscuits in it
Place these sponge biscuits in an 11/7 inch pan
Pour half of the mascarpone cheese mix over the biscuit layer
Spread the cheese mix evenly using a spatula
Now add another layer of sponge biscuits and then pour the remaining mascarpone mix
Sprinkle some coco powder on top of the tiramisu
Keep the dessert in the fridge for at least 8 hours
The tiramisu would be perfectly set and tastes great if it is refrigerated for 24 hours
Cut into squares and serve.
