Here is that kappa recipe that took Malayali social media foodie circles by storm – paal kappa aka tapioca cooked in creamy coconut milk. Paal kappa is a delicious dish that could be enjoyed on its own or with curries. Here is is how to prepare it:

Ingredients
1 kg tapioca (boiled)
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 green chilies
2 tsp ginger
2 sprigs curry leaves
2 tsp pepper
3 glasses coconut milk
1 ½ tsp salt

Preparation
Heat oil in a pan
Splutter the mustard seeds and the cumin
Sauté the crushed ginger and green chilies
Into it add pepper powder, curry leaves and boiled tapioca
Mix well
Finally, add the coconut milk and salt
Cook until the dish thickens up.
Serve hot on its own or with mackerel curry.
