Passion fruit kulukki sarbath: A refreshing, tart, summer drink

For a long time, our friendly neighbourhood passion fruit was often ignored by Keralites, despite its refreshing taste and health benefits. Gone are those times and now, you find numerous drinks and desserts with this amazing fruit as the base.

Loaded with vitamin C and minerals, anti oxidants and more, the fruit is a store house of abundant nutrients. Here's the recipe for a passion fruit based kulukki sarbath.

Ingredients
2 passion fruits
2 tsp poppy seeds
2 tbsp sugar
1 lemon
1 green chili
1 green chili
1 ½ cups water
Ice cubes as required

Preparation
Take lemon juice, lemon rind, sugar, soaked poppy seeds, passion fruit pulp, green chili and 1 cup water
Shake well for at least a minute
Pour into serving glasses
Add more poppy seeds if required.
