Java plums aka 'njaaval' are often available in Kerala backyards and even on our road sides. A tasty and refreshing lassi can be made with the colourful fruit, teaming it up with mangoes, in this season. The two-layered drink also looks fancy enough for you to serve it during parties and to kids who are fussy eaters.
