Treat your taste buds with this sweet and melt-in-the-mouth papaya barfi

Papaya is a versatile ingredient which could be used to make a variety of dishes. This sweet barfi hardly tastes like it has been made with papaya, though the sweet has all the goodness of the fruit. So, kids are going to love this! Check out the pretty simple recipe of papaya barfi.

1 almost ripe papaya
1 coconut (grated)
1 cup sugar
5 cardamom pods
4 tbsp ghee

Toast the grated coconut in a thick bottomed vessel
Transfer this into a bowl
Heat two tbsp ghee in the vessel
Add grated papaya
Cook until the papaya is soft
Now add sugar
Mix well until the sugar melts completely
Into it add toasted coconut
When the water reduces, add cardamom powder
Mix well
Transfer this mixture into a vessel that has been greased with some ghee
Press the mixture into the vessel using a spatula
After an hour, cut the barfi into desired shape
Delicious papaya barfi is ready!
