Replace the regular laddoo with this super healthy aval laddoo

Aval or flattened rice is a filling and nutritious food item that could be used to make a variety of dishes. They are available in white and red varieties. Sweet and tasty laddoo made with flattened rice is an amazing snack that is quite filling too. It can easily satiate your hunger pangs during the monsoon. Check out the pretty simple recipe of aval laddoo.

Ingredients
1 cup flattened rice or red poha
1/3 cup jaggery powder
1 tbsp ghee + 2 tbsp gee
Some cashews
1 tbsp raisins
¼ tsp cardamom powder
1 tbsp milk

Preparation
Toast the flattened rice in a hot pan on low flame
The flattened rice should be crispy
Transfer the toasted flattened rice into a mixer jar
Add jaggery powder too
Grind into coarse powder
Transfer this into a dry bowl
Meanwhile, heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pan
Fry the cashews
Into it add raisins and cardamom powder
Add this mixture along with the ghee into the flattened rice – jaggery powder
Mix well using a spoon
Allow this to cool down nicely
Add 2 tbsp ghee and milk
Mix well
Now make small balls from this sweet mixture
Add more ghee if the mixture crumbles in your palm
The laddoo could be enjoyed then or stored in air tight containers.
