Oats uthappam: A quick and nutritious breakfast option

Consuming oats for breakfast is considered a popular way to shed weight when combined with exercise. Rich in fibre, oats dishes are quite filling and prevent you from binging on unhealthy snacks to satiate the hunger pangs. Besides aiding digestion, oats, which are loaded with protein, could lower the blood sugar level. Oats can be consumed in lots of ways. You could easily make Indian dishes like dosa, idli, Pongal and upma using oats. Check out the pretty simple recipe of oats uthappam which is tasty and has the goodness of veggies too.

Ingredients
1/2 cup quick-cooked oats
1/4 cup rice flour/semolina
2 tbsp curd
1 pinch soda
Water
Asafoetida
Yoghurt
Red chilli powder
Cumin
Chopped ginger
Baking soda
Bell pepper
Tomato
Green chillies
Salt as required

Preparation
Grind oats, semolina and asafoetida in the mixer jar into fine powder
Transfer this to a bowl
Into it add the rest of the ingredients
Pour water in small quantities and mix into a thick batter
Keep the batter aside for 10 – 15 minutes
Add the veggies and salt
Mix well
Grease a pan with oil
Pour a ladle full of batter
Spread it into a crepe
Flip when one side is cooked
Turn off the flame when both sides are golden brown
