Love experimenting with your coffee? This passion fruit coffee brings together the bold flavour of coffee and the sweet-tart taste of passion fruit for a refreshing drink with a tropical twist. The fruity tang cuts through the bitterness of coffee, creating an interesting balance of flavours. Served over ice and topped with a slice of passion fruit, it makes a delicious pick-me-up for warm afternoons.
Ingredients
- ½ cup strong brewed coffee or 1 shot espresso, chilled
- ½ cup chilled milk
- 2 tbsp passion fruit pulp
- 1 to 2 tsp sugar syrup, to taste
- Ice cubes, as needed
- 1 slice of passion fruit, for garnish
Preparation
- Add the passion fruit pulp and sugar syrup to a glass. Mix well.
- Fill the glass with ice cubes and pour in the chilled milk.
- Slowly pour the chilled coffee over the milk to create a layered effect.
- Garnish with a slice of passion fruit and serve immediately.
- Stir before drinking to blend the flavours.
Tip: Passion fruit is acidic and may cause milk to curdle. For the best results, add the pulp just before serving and avoid vigorous mixing. If needed, use a passion fruit syrup designed for drinks for a smoother finish.
