Legendary singer Asha Bhosle's granddaughter Zanai Bhosle posted on social media that she is admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai due to chest infection nd extreme exhaustion. The singer, who is 92, also reportedly had pulmonary issues before arriving at the hospital. Maharashtra's Cultural Minister, Ashish Shelar, also visited the singer at the hospital last night (April 11, Saturday). The hospital is soon expected to issue fresh statement on Bhosle's health. Meanwhile, PM Modi also tweeted, extending wishes of speedy recovery.

According to the renowned medical journal PubMed Central, chest infections in senior citizens can be serious. As their immune systems are weak due to age, it would be harder to fight the infections, and any pre-existing conditions like heart diseases, diabetes, or stroke can worsen it.
