A 22-year-old woman,  who got married just six months ago, was found hanging at her paternal home in Alappad here on Monday. The deceased is Neha, daughter of the late Manoj from Kuyilamparambil. She was a third-year LLB student.

Neha was married to Ranjith of Puthumadham, Perinjanam. The couple had visited her home in Alappad on Sunday. While Ranjith later returned, Neha chose to stay back. 

Following this, an argument broke out between Neha and her mother over her decision not to return to her husband's house. Neha locked herself in a room after the argument. 

When she did not come out for a long time, the family broke open the door and found her hanging. Police have launched an investigation into the incident. The funeral will be held today.
