Malappuram man murdered with hedge trimmer; accused held

Malappuram: A man allegedly slit the throat of his co-worker with a hedge trimmer at Charankavu here on Sunday. The deceased is Praveen (40). The Manjeri police arrested Moideenkutty, who allegedly committed the crime following a dispute with the victim.
According to the natives, the accused is a drug addict with a criminal background. Praveen was heading to work along with his co-workers, including Moideenkutty. During an argument, Moideenkutty reportedly snatched a hedge trimmer from Surendran, another worker and attacked Praveen on the road at Charankavu.
Police have reached the spot and initiated inquest procedures. Further investigation is underway. Praveen is survived by his wife and two children.
