Kannur: Paruvilangal P B Aneesh, a native of Thabore in Udayagiri, who overcame great odds to harvest success in farming, has been awarded the Keralaprabha Award, marking a proud moment for the entire district.

Aneesh’s journey to success is as inspiring as it is hard-earned. What began on a modest five-acre plot, once under the threat of attachment, has now flourished into a hi-tech farm. In addition to his own land, he cultivates 30 acres on lease.

A recipient of the Manorama Karshakasree Award in 2024, Aneesh has fully transformed his farms with the support cutting-edge technology. He has established two climate-controlled centres and installed 72 cameras across his fields for real-time monitoring.

An extensive pipeline network stretches over several kilometres to irrigate the crops, while advanced sensors assess soil moisture and nutrient content and give updates in mobile phone . His farms also feature a mechanised feeding system for fish stock, automated water-level controls for ponds and tanks and motion sensors to detect the presence of wild animals.

Such innovation and commitment have earned him accolades from across the state. Aneesh is also a recipient of the Karshakothama Award presented by the Department of Agriculture.
