Kozhikode: A lorry carrying cement overturned and fell onto the residence of Feroke Municipal Council Chairman MC Abdul Razak in Kozhikode on Monday morning. The incident occurred around 9 am near the municipal office in Feroke town.

According to initial reports, the parked vehicle collapsed from an estimated height of 13 feet after the roadside surface and retaining wall gave way under its weight. The lorry was reportedly transporting around 35 tonnes of cement.

The front portion of the house, which had a clay-tiled roof supported by an iron truss, was completely destroyed. The lorry driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. A two-wheeler parked in the compound was also damaged. Feroke police reached the spot and carried out rescue efforts.
