Kozhikode: One of the three students reported missing from Thamarassery has been traced by police, while search operations are continuing for the remaining two. The traced student is a 15-year-old Plus One student from Chithragiri near Vaduvanchal in Wayanad. According to police, he was located at an estate near the Wayanad border.

However, the other two students managed to escape from the spot when police reached the area. A search is currently underway to trace them.

The three students—a Class 10 girl, her Class 12 friend, and the Plus One student—had gone missing from Thamarassery on Thursday, prompting a joint search operation by Kerala and Karnataka police, with support from the cyber cell.

Earlier, CCTV footage had shown the trio travelling on two two-wheelers towards the Karnataka border via Bathery and Muthanga. Investigators also found that one of the boys had sold his smartphone and the group had switched off their phones to avoid tracking.

Police said further searches are continuing in the Wayanad border region.
