KSRTC driver dies after bus crashes into roadside shop in Thrissur, 4 injured

Thrissur: The driver of a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) low-floor bus that crashed into a roadside shop at Akkikavu in Thrissur on Tuesday has died. The deceased has been identified as George Joseph, a native of Palluruthy in Ernakulam district. He was driving the Kozhikode–Ernakulam service when the accident occurred.
The bus veered off the road and rammed into the shop after the driver reportedly swerved to avoid an oncoming bus. George Joseph was trapped inside the mangled driver's cabin following the crash and was later extricated by rescue personnel. He succumbed to his injuries.
According to preliminary information, the driver lost control of the bus while attempting to give way to an oncoming vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and crash into the building. The bus conductor and four passengers were injured in the accident and were admitted to a nearby hospital.
