Celebrity designer and style consultant Aanu Nobby, the founder designer of 'AansDe,' says that ornamented 'multipurpose couture' is high on demand at her designer store after it was launched a couple of months ago. “The best part about chocker shawls and bangled tops are that the customer feels light and less burdened on wearing it. More than the heaviness of chains, necklaces, bangles and bracelets, the challenge of finding the right ornament to suit an attire bemused them. Multipurpose couture is a solution to all such problems,” she says.
Chocker shawls
A lengthy ornamented cloth which is to be worn as a neck-piece along with a dress. It serves the purpose of a shawl without covering the beauty of your dress. This light-weight multipurpose accessory could well be paired with other dresses of your choice.
Bangled blouse
An exclusive series of long-sleeved party-wear blouses, anarkalis and kurtis, these tops are attached with ornamented bangle-like designs at the end of their sleeves. The users do not have to wear additional bangles along with them.
When tight sleeves bid adieu
Another interesting feature of monsoon fashion this year, is the arrival of loose, flared or pletted sleeves ditching the traditional tight ones. Winged sleeves, pocket-pletted balloon sleeves and bell-sleeves are in vogue this season. “You'll be surprised by the way a bell-sleeve goes with a party-gown or a lehenga. Unlike the previous years when neck-designs, fabric and customization distinguished an attire, sleeves rule the bridal/party-wear fashion arena this year,” Nobby adds.
